Kaiser Federal Bank Approaches Check Imaging More Efficiently with CSI's Hosted POD
-CSI’s item capture solution responds to industry shift in check management needs, supports cost-effective check processing-
PADUCAH, Ky., August 8, 2012 – Industry reports indicate a continued decline in check volumes, and many financial institutions are searching for more efficient check imaging solutions. As an alternative to traditional technologies, Computer Services, Inc. (CSI) (OTCQX: CSVI), a provider of end-to-end technology solutions that empower financial institutions to remain competitive, compliant and profitable, now offers a Hosted POD (Proof of Deposit) solution through its Document Services division.
CSI’s Hosted POD, a cloud-based version of CSI’s Summit.NET check imaging platform, eliminates the need for in-house hardware and software infrastructure management, which saves financial institutions a significant amount of time and costs associated with technology expenditures. Aside from managing hardware and software, the solution also maintains a real-time redundant backup system and actively monitors for compliance and security risks within the financial institution.
An existing Summit.NET user, Covina, Calif.-based Kaiser Federal Bank selected CSI’s Hosted POD as a result of the secure, innovative and collaborative relationship the bank has with the solutions provider. Once implemented, Hosted POD will eliminate the bank’s need for in-house system updates, ensuring the timeliness of software and server data. It also will enhance the bank’s efficiency by streamlining the check imaging process across its enterprise. Additionally, Kaiser Federal Bank will gain further efficiency as Hosted POD will allow the bank to aggregate three different image delivery channels into a single solution.
“Working with CSI, we developed a more efficient, effective and comprehensive strategy for item capture using the Hosted POD solution,” said David Hanighen, chief information officer of Kaiser Federal Bank. “This new solution provides our branches with the daily flexibility to scan checks more efficiently, as well as empowers our electronic delivery department to proactively manage image capture regardless of delivery channel. In addition, the Hosted POD solution significantly expands our check imaging processing capabilities to include branch, ATM and mobile deposit capture through a single aggregated platform.”
Hosted POD uses an open platform that enables it to interface with a financial institution’s existing core processing systems, making it available to banks and credit unions nationwide. Because of this flexibility, Summit.NET solutions have been installed in more than 700 United States financial institutions and interfaced with more than 25 core processing systems.
“Check volumes continue to decrease, and CSI must deliver the technology to support our customers’ evolving needs,” said Steve Powless, chief executive officer of CSI. “Through our Hosted POD solution, we remain committed to providing our customers with an equal balance of advanced technology and valuable industry guidance, which results in improved efficiency and a lasting relationship with the CSI team.”
