Baptist Health Paducah Names Steve Powless as Board Chairman

(Paducah, Ky.)  Jan. 29, 2018 — Steve Powless was recently named chairman of the Baptist Health Paducah Administrative Board of Directors. Powless will serve a two-year term, which began Jan. 1, 2018, providing leadership to the hospital’s efforts in serving approximately 200,000 patients annually from a four-state area.

“We are honored to have Steve Powless serve as chairman of our board of directors,” said Chris Roty, Baptist Health Paducah president. “His leadership and experience will be an asset as we work together to serve our community.”

Powless is currently chairman and chief executive officer of Computer Services, Inc. (CSI), a Paducah-based full-service financial technology provider serving customers nationwide. During his more than 30-year career with CSI, he has held such leadership positions as executive vice president of corporate development, chief operating officer and president. Powless is only the second person in the company’s history to serve as chief executive officer, and he was appointed chairman in 2017.

“Having access to high-quality, reliable healthcare is critical for every community, and Baptist Health Paducah has been providing innovative, patient-centered care to our region for nearly a century,” Powless said. “It’s an honor to serve as chairman of the administrative board, and I look forward to working with the hospital and community leaders to deepen the meaningful impact the hospital can have on the health and well-being of the more than 200,000 patients we serve each year.”

In addition, Powless has served as past president and director of the Association for Financial Technology, a national trade association. He also has served on numerous local and regional boards, including ConnectKentucky and the Greater Paducah Economic Development Council. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from Murray State University.

Powless also is a board member of the Baptist Health Foundation Paducah.
