Our History

CSI was incorporated on March 16, 1965, beginning our modest operations with only six employees and three customers. Today, we provide regulatory solutions to customers across the globe, and have become one of the nation’s largest providers of fintech and regtech solutions across multiple industries.

A Vision for the Future

Despite our humble beginning, we always had a vision for the future, and a commitment to be a strong and independent regional provider. So, by 1968 our staff had grown to nineteen and our customer base had expanded to twenty-one banks within a seventy-five-mile radius of Paducah. Over the next decade, our expansion continued with the acquisition of Computer Program Consultants, Inc. and the opening of a full bank data processing center in Madisonville, Kentucky.

Answering the rise of computers, we reached two major milestones in 1982 by opening a data center in Lexington, Kentucky and creating our first PC software, IRA Marketer. Two short years later, we operated five data centers and developed the first online ATM system. As computing needs rose into 1987, we installed a new mainframe in Paducah to increase computing power tenfold and perform nearly six million instructions per second, a far cry from the early days of the Burroughs B300. That year also proved momentous for marking CSI’s first ever Customer Conference, a demonstration of our commitment to enhanced customer support and service.

That commitment continued through the 1990s, exemplified by a range of innovations. In 1992, the company became the first data service provider to offer online information retrieval from a national credit bureau. With the launches of CSIweb.com, CSI WebSecure and CSINet over the next few years, CSI proved itself a reliable technology provider.

A New Millennium

Beginning the new millennium with nearly five hundred customer banks, we set our sights on further advancing our technology and outreach. In 2002, the company released a record number of solutions at the 2002 Customer Conference. A few years later, the company began offering a new mobile banking platform to its customers.

Strategic Growth Initiative

CSI presented our Strategic Growth Initiative in 2011, casting our vision for the future with a long-term strategic plan to promote and sustain positive momentum. 2014 was a pivotal year in beginning to realize that plan, as CSI launched two major products, a premier business intelligence solution and an industry-leading enterprise risk management solution. Upon celebrating fifty years of business in 2015, CSI had nearly 1,100 employees, thousands of customers nationwide and an expanded digital banking suite of solutions.

Today, Computer Services, Inc. provides regulatory solutions to customers across the globe, and has become one of the nation’s largest providers of fintech  and regtech solutions across multiple industries.
